Job Summary
Responsible for completing required training program that satisfies the Florida Board of Pharmacy requirements for technician licensure. Responsible for delivering a great and memorable customer experience, following all guidance and direction provided by Pharmacist -in – Charge, Pharmacist, and Lead Technician. Must use pharmacy systems to get information about patients, medications, and process prescriptions. Process point of sale transactions and carry out other administrative duties.
Operations
- Engages patients by greeting them and offering assistance with medication and services.
- Ensures that pharmacy counters and shelves are kept clean and medications are neatly organized.
- Performs duties assigned by Pharmacist-in-Charge, other pharmacists, and Chief Pharmacy Officer, such as entering patient and drug information using pharmacy systems, filling prescriptions by retrieving, pouring, and counting pharmaceutical drugs. Ensure that information is correctly entered and verify the medicine is correct during the filling process.
- Immediately reports prescription errors to the pharmacist on duty and also adheres to all policies of the company related to pharmacy errors.
- Adheres strictly to the policy of Care Resource regarding Good Faith Dispensing during all prescription dispensing activities applicable.
- Handles phone calls that don’t need the personal attention of the pharmacist, which includes those to physicians.
- Processes in an efficient and timely manner all third party claims for third party and 340B program prescription services, and carries out other clerical functions assigned by the Pharmacist-in-Charge.
- Helps and supports the pharmacy department on the management activities of the inventory like the ordering, checking, unpacking, and storing of pharmaceutical shipments.
- Have a working knowledge of pharmacy and electronic health records systems.
- Maintains healthy and respectful relationships with the coworkers and complies with all Care Resource policies.
- Ensures that special assignments and other tasks are completed properly.

Education
High school diploma is required.
Training and Experience
Three (3) years of experience in a similar role.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
This work requires the following physical activities: constant writing, sitting, standing, and talking in person, talking on the phone, hearing /visual acuity. Frequent walking and occasional bending, stretching and reaching may be required. Work is performed predominantly in an office setting, with occasional instances of local travel throughout the day within Miami Dade and Broward Counties.
