We are looking for a service minded Host/Hostess to complete our team for Carmine’s. Our Hosts/Hostesses have an inviting and warm personality and aims to please every guest who walks in our doors or calls for a take out/delivery order. Providing a welcoming and bright smile and making sure all guests feel welcome. The ideal candidates will have a professional demeanor with excellent communication skills, exceptionally organized, and succeed in a team-based environment.

Your Role with Us:

  • As a guest engagement specialist, your core responsibility is to ensure our guests are having a great experience from the moment they call us or walk up to our door til they depart.
  • You will set the stage for the guests first experience when walking through our doors; you will greet and say goodbye to every guest with a warm smile and provide thoughtful service.
  • Act as a Brand Ambassador, engaging the guest about both Carmine’s and Virgil’s locations and inviting them back again for Special Events and Catering experiences.
  • Answer phone and manage our Open Table reservation systems, in addition to maintaining tables in our dining area (indoor and outdoor) and adjusting table configurations as needed per guests or safety requirements
  • Ensure Sanitation Standards are upheld in high contact areas by frequently cleaning and disinfecting surfaces repeatedly touched by employees or guests such as door knobs/handles, check presenters, tablets, menus, pens, etc. These protocols are updated regularly based on CDC recommendations.
  • Help guest maintain good safety and sanitation practices at the front via sanitation and social distancing by directing and assisting guests in following arrows and social distancing markers. In addition, ensuring control of restrooms not allowing more than 2 guest in 1 restroom at a time
  • Ensuring Compliance with NY City and State regulations including guest temperature checks, collecting guest information for contact tracing, and other tasks recommended by the City, State, or CDC.
  • Our team engages with our guests both indoors and outside the front door, explaining our menu, inviting them in to dine with us and ensuring each potential guest becomes a regular at our Restaurant!
  • Escort guest to the table and present our safety measures required during Covid19 that we have done to ensure their safety as well as maintain brand integrity. Offering complimentary pump of hand sanitizer after they seated and direct them if they need to use a restroom location and we only allow two guest at a time
  • Answer guest questions in regards to reservations, best practices for safety due to COVID-19, knowledge of menu items including making recommendations or suggestions as needed
  • Observe and assist in preparing unoccupied tables for customers by wiping/sanitizing surface top and chairs, removing debris(used plates, glassware, silverware, etc.) as needed
  • Assist servers with indoor and outdoor table set ups with plates, rollups, condiments, etc. and assisting with delivering items to table that the guest needs including to go containers, bread, water, beverages, etc. as needed
  • Take pick up or delivery orders over the phone using Aloha POS and assist in packaging to go and delivery order.
  • Thank our guest for dining with us creating that final last great impression!

We Are Looking for Candidates:

  • Who are professional, personable, organized with a sense of humor and a strong passion for hospitality!
  • With experience as a host/hostess, take out/delivery phone specialist or general restaurant experience highly preferred but not required.
  • With experience operating OpenTable, RESY, or other reservations systems is a plus.
  • Who are Fluent in English.
  • Who are bright, warm, outgoing personality; upbeat and well groomed.
  • With a desire to grow with the company and passion for excellence.
  • With open flexibility to work various shifts.
  • Able to speak clearly and articulately on the telephone, providing information and answering questions for callers and walk in guests.
