The Payroll Assistant & Benefits Administrator Assistant provides comprehensive administrative support for the Human Resources department, focusing on Payroll, benefits administration, new employee onboarding, and other HR functions.
This role contributes to the daily execution of a variety of HR processes, while also serving as the primary backup for the Director of HR, ensuring smooth operations during their absence. This position is accountable for handling sensitive information with discretion and multitasking effectively to ensure deadlines and goals are met. This position will work closely with the Director of HR, as well as cross-functionally with departments across the company.
Human Resources
- Inputting and processing several monthly payrolls
- Calculating commission and hourly pay plans
- Documenting, inputting and managing benefit deferrals
- Ensure timely and accurate processing of HR-related invoices
- Respond to basic employee inquiries related to benefits and escalate issues as needed
- Support the maintenance of accurate benefits records and assist with annual open enrollment processes
- Execute employee onboarding
- Maintain employee files and ensure compliance with record-keeping requirements
- Assist with policy and procedure updates, and distribute communications to staff
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications for this role include:
- The ability to maintain discretion, confidentiality, and security of employee and company payroll information.
- Proven experience as a Payroll Assistant
- Strong numerical aptitude and attention to detail
- Excellent time management skills to meet payroll schedules and deadlines
- An understanding of payroll practices and current laws
- The ability to communicate, both verbally and written, with all levels of staff
- Experienced with ADP or other payroll software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
- An Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, or related field is preferred.
