Job Summary
The Admissions Director reports to the facility Administrator, however this role will be mostly self-directed within the duties of the position.
Manage the facility’s inquiry and admission process and provide customers with facility-related information via facility tours, personal visits/assessments, conversations, and follow-up. Coordinate and implement effective facility sales and marketing programs.
Position Duties
- Manage the resident admissions process for our skilled nursing/long term care facility. Welcome new residents; establish rapport with family members, responsible parties.
- Coordinate admissions with the Director of Nursing and other department heads to ensure readiness and preparations in place for each resident’s arrival
- Conduct tours of the facility for referral sources, potential residents and/or families
- Update bed availability, track facility census and discharges to ensure optimum occupancy/case mix for the facility.
- Respond to admission inquiries timely and with a professional approach
- Communicate with referral sources, maintaining positive relationships with community organizations such as local senior centers,
- Meet with residents/families to review and complete admission documentation.
- Maintain a working knowledge of federal and state regulations and reimbursement (Managed Care, Medicare and Medicaid). Knowledge of managed care referral network a plus
- Conduct outreach and special programs for connecting to Assisted Living facilities and other referral sources
- Check financial eligibility of all referrals for payor source. Ideal candidate will have some familiarity with system tools such as AllScripts Care Management,(Curaspan), My Ability, etc.
- Adhere to all Federal, State, local, and management admissions rules and regulations
Minimum Requirements:
- At least 2 years of admissions experience in Skilled Nursing Facility /Long Term Experience
- Must be knowledgeable of skilled nursing and long-term care
- Excellent interpersonal and written/oral communication skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Demonstrable teamwork skills
