Job Title: Program Director


Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated Program Director to lead the ROAR program, driving its mission to support young adults impacted by the criminal legal system. The Program Director will oversee program operations, supervise and develop staff, and ensure the implementation of best practices in ATI/ATD services. This role involves building relationships with stakeholders, ensuring compliance with court procedures, and using data to inform program improvements. We are looking for a visionary leader with proven experience in program management and a passion for empowering communities. Join us in fostering meaningful change and empowering participants to achieve their potential. The Program Director is based out of the Harlem office. They will be expected to visit offices throughout Manhattan, Brooklyn and the Bronx.

Shift Hours: This position is full-time Monday - Friday from 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM.

Salary:
The salary range for this role is $90,000 - $100,000 per year.

Location Address
: 4 West 125th Street, New York, NY 10027. Our office is easily accessible by public transportation.

Flexible - Staff have flexibility to complete their work day from home or another suitable space, typically after reporting to the office and/or engaging in field or community-based work.

What You Will Be Doing:
  • Serve as leading champion and ambassador for advancing the program’s mission and values with internal and external stakeholders – including but not limited to judges, district attorney offices, defense organizations, funders (city, state, foundation), parents and caregivers, support networks, community members as well as participants.
  • Monitor and synthesize relevant emerging best practices in ATI/ATD services and implement where relevant.
  • Develop team leaders to successfully manage teams and reach full management and leadership capacity.
  • Lead staff using a performance management and professional development process that encourages employee contributions and includes goal setting, feedback, and professional development.
  • Plan and implement continuous quality improvement processes that utilize effective performance management and metrics and utilize program data to inform programming.
  • Prepare narrative reports and work closely with the Data Reporting and Analysis team to assess program impact and support evaluation of performance quantitatively and qualitatively.
  • Work collaboratively with department directors to impact the success of the participants and the program, enhance referral pathways, and coordinate services on behalf of participants.
  • Supervise staff in the intricacies of Court procedures and ensure timely and accurate reporting to Court and legal parties about participants’ progress and participation.


Secondary Duties:
  • Develop team and program culture.
  • Attend court appearances as needed.
  • Facilitate and participate in trainings.
  • Maintain fiscal responsibility for program funds.
  • Meet monthly with funder Conduct weekly supervision with direct reports.
  • Meet with Sr. Director weekly for supervision.
  • Perform crisis response services as needed.
  • Work flexible hours when required.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Senior Director.

  • At least 4 years of supervisory and leadership experience.
  • A commitment to being an anti-racist leader.
  • Proven ability to provide administrative leadership that supports contractual obligations.
  • A willingness to adhere to judges’ expectations while also advocating in the best interest of the participant.
  • A belief that participants, community members and team members have the ability and capacity for change.
  • Strong communication skills including a strong command of discussing outcomes with a variety of stakeholders.
  • Competence in understanding databases.
  • A commitment to the team to support them through difficult moments and celebrate the beautiful moments!
