Cleaner and Shipping Assistant

Position Overview: We are seeking a motivated and reliable individual to join our team as a Cleaner & Shipping Assistant in a manufacturing environment. This dual-role position involves maintaining cleanliness and hygiene across the manufacturing facility while also assisting with the preparation and shipment of large packages. The ideal candidate will have a strong attention to detail, a proactive attitude, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Cleaner Duties:

• Facility Cleaning: Ensure cleanliness and sanitation in all areas of the manufacturing floor.
• Waste Management: Properly dispose of waste ensuring bins are emptied regularly.
• Equipment Cleaning: Clean machinery, equipment, and tools to maintain a safe and hygienic working environment.
• Floor Care: Sweep, mop, and disinfect floors, ensuring there are no hazards or obstructions.
• Inventory Maintenance: Ensure cleaning supplies are stocked and ordered as needed.
• Safety Compliance: Adhere to health and safety standards by using appropriate cleaning chemicals and equipment, ensuring the facility remains in compliance with workplace regulations.

Shipping Assistant Duties:

• Packaging: Assist in preparing large packages of casters for shipment by carefully packing and labeling boxes to meet shipping standards.
• Loading & Unloading: Safely load large packages of casters onto trucks using forklifts, pallet jacks, or manual lifting techniques, ensuring packages are secured for transport.
• Shipping Documentation: Assist in completing shipping paperwork, including order forms, shipping labels, and inventory records.
• Truck Coordination: Ensure that trucks are properly loaded with orders and that shipment schedules are followed in a timely manner.

Qualifications:

• Experience: Prior experience in cleaning, manufacturing, or warehouse settings is preferred but not required.
• Physical Requirements: Ability to lift heavy packages (up to 50lbs) and work on your feet for extended periods.
• Safety Awareness: Knowledge of workplace safety standards and the proper handling of cleaning chemicals and equipment.
• Technical Skills: Experience with basic warehouse equipment (e.g., forklifts, pallet jacks) is a plus.
• Teamwork: Ability to collaborate with team members across different departments to meet operational needs.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $16.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
