What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director of Counseling position at Catholic Charities North Dakota?
Job Function:
The Director of Counseling will develop, coordinate, supervise and evaluate the agency’s counseling program and its counseling staff in addition to providing therapy to individuals, couples, and families.
Job Responsibility:
· Provide counseling to individuals, couples, families, and groups.
· Maintain accurate, timely and complete case records, including insurance forms.
· Respond appropriately to the cultural differences present within the Agency's service population and staff.
· Demonstrate values compatible with those of the Agency.
· Lead counseling program staff in development of departmental annual goals and coordinate follow through.
· Assists in development of the Counseling budget and responsible for meeting or exceeding the counseling budget.
· Responsible for all staffing processes, including interviewing, training, performance management/annual evaluations as well as review of and approval of timesheets and expense reports.
· Update, maintain and create the standard operative policies, procedure, and client intake paperwork of the counseling program.
· Provides case consultation to clinical staff and ensures clinical staff receives on-going education and training on relevant clinical topics.
· Compiles statistics and information required for the program.
· Participates actively in the Agency's Performance Quality Improvement process.
· Coordinates day to day operation of the counseling program; ensures compliance with agency, licensing, and accreditation standards.
· Develops and maintain strong relationships with Priests, Deacons, and members of both the Bismarck and Fargo Diocese.
· Provides dynamic and visionary leadership to the Counseling Program which includes actively seeking out new opportunities for service delivery.
· Oversees and is a super-user of technology utilized within the program.
· Responsible for outreach and building relationships in the community and across the State of North Dakota. When necessary, attends meetings of community and professional associations and activities related to the delivery of services to facilitate referral and resource development, and to provide appropriate feedback to staff.
Mandatory Qualifications/Certification:
¨ Master’s degree in social work or counseling
¨ Licensed by State of North Dakota
¨ Minimum of two years counseling experience
¨ Prefer a minimum of two years supervisory experience.
¨ Position requires some evening and weekend work as well as occasional travel and overnight stays.
