Summary~ Assist the Program Director in overseeing, coordinating, implementing, and supervising comprehensive services for children, youth, and families at the Highbridge Gardens Cornerstone Community Center as specified in DYCD contractual provisions. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.- Assist in the day-to-day supervision of activities at the Highbridge Gardens Cornerstone Program.
- Assist the Director in monitoring, reporting, program planning, and developing program activities for participants ages 5-21 and their families.
- Overall responsibility for the successful program implementation and outcome attainment.
- Work with the Director to ensure prompt submission of reports to both agency and funders.
- Maintain participant files on-site, enrollment, and attendance online, and maintain the DYCD Online System.
- Assist with supervising and implementing all Highbridge Cornerstone Center site activities, such as special events, youth civic engagement projects, and recruitment events.
- Help to provide administrative/logistical support to service integration staff.
- Co-facilitate all orientations conducted at the Center.
- Attend monthly meetings and other trainings as needed.
- Ability and patience to work with children and young people, recognizing their exuberance and juvenile behavior, particularly in group settings.
- Remain stationary, either working at a computer or monitoring activities.
- Move for long periods, providing instruction.
- Travel when taking field trips, using public transportation, traversing city streets, ascending/descending stairs, and being exposed to outside weather conditions while escorting youth.
- A High School Diploma or Equivalent with a minimum of five (5) years experience working with youth or an Associate Degree with a minimum of three (3) years experience working with youth.
- At least two (2) years of supervisory experience.
- Experience facilitating workshops and providing one-on-one peer mediation is preferred.
- Experience working with families who face exceptional challenges.
- Ability to work collaboratively with teams.
- Excellent social skills are demonstrative of empathy and support.
- Excellent organizational and administrative skills.
- Excellent written and oratory skills.
