Broadcast Associate/Anchor Assistant, CBS Evenings News

The Administrative Assistant will provide administrative support to leadership at the CBS Evening News based in New York City.

Responsibilities:

• Handles calendar and schedules appointments
• Screens and responds to incoming calls and correspondence
• Performs clerical duties such as typing, filing, and copying documents
• Prepare material for meetings
• Serve as a liaison and point of contact at the CBS Evening News for other departments within CBS News
• Arranges travel plans and itineraries, compiles documents for travel-related meetings, tours and events
• Processes all travel expenses, run errands
• Ensures confidential and sensitive information is handled with discretion
• Provide editorial and production support as needed

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
• 2 years’ experience in administrative support in a fast-paced environment
• Strong writing and verbal skills
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint)
• Ability to maintain confidentiality
• Flexibility to work late or on weekends in the event of extraordinary news events
• Ability to balance multiple tasks, prioritize workload and meet deadlines

Schedule: Monday – Friday, 100% in person in NYC with the ability to have flexible work hours as needed

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Hiring Salary Range: $45,000.00 - 50,000.00.

The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, tuition assistance program and PTO or, if applicable, as otherwise dictated by the appropriate Collective Bargaining Agreement.
