Description

Position Summary

An Audio Visual Lead is the first line supervisor with crew level responsibility for employees involved in the installation, alteration, addition, and/or repairs of structured cabling systems, and associated materials and equipment on any type project; or may be the primary jobsite supervisor on smaller construction, retrofit, or tenant finish projects. This is a safety sensitive position. This is a safety sensitive position.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Work with Field Engineer to complete all phases of installation projects.
  • Tasks including rack assembly, equipment placement and equipment mounting are to be performed in accordance with system diagrams, both in-house and on-site.
  • System cabling is performed in accordance with system diagrams, both in-house and on-site.
  • Terminations are performed in accordance with system diagrams, both in-house and on-site.
  • Equipment external to racks is installed and custom panels or products are fabricated as directed by Field Technician or Sales Engineer.
  • Assigned tasks relating to job site work are maintained in an organized and clean manner.
  • Assigned tasks are regularly completed within the budgeted time & performed to meet or exceed quality standards established.
  • Provide feedback to facilitate improvements to the installation process.
  • Provide any other support to ensure standards daily.
  • Develop project plan & execute within time goals & quality standards for project.
  • Document project changes and communicate back to project management.
  • Lead technicians on highest level of AV systems.
  • Proven ability to task and lead teams of 7 efficiently (Internal employees & Subcontractors)
  • Demonstrates a working advanced knowledge of construction processes and demonstrates an advanced level of ability to interface with different trades communicating critical task milestones necessary for project success.
  • Provide feedback to facilitate improvements to the installation process and tier progression of technicians.
  • INFOCOMM CTS-I certification or ability to possess within 6 months of date of hire.

Other Duties and Responsibilities

  • Performs other related duties as assigned to ensure efficient and effective processes, completion of projects and smooth operation of department.

Education and Experience

  • High School Graduate, GED or equivalent
  • 2 years experience in Audio Visual.

Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities

  • Large knowledge of construction & AV industry. Ability to read schematic diagrams and building drawings.
  • Ability to lead mid-level projects.
  • Ability to problem solve to keep project on time and budget.
  • Ability to work with clients on system functionality and project issues and planning.
  • Ability to provide the highest level of leadership & controlling situations in a high stress environment.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, recognize small details, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Hearing with or without hearing aids. The employee must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and /or move up to 35 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 35 pounds. The employee may be required to climb stairs. Must have full range of motion and dexterity. Other general office duties such as copying, and phone usage are performed regularly.
