Centek Industries, the world leader in marine exhaust and marine engine room ventilation, is seeking a talented and experienced Yacht Quality Finish (YQF) Paint Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will specialize in applying and repairing gelcoat finishes on fiberglass parts for boats and marine vessels. The role will primarily focus on surface preparation, applying gelcoat using spray guns, sanding, and buffing to achieve a smooth, high-quality aesthetic finish. It requires exceptional attention to detail, precision, and a commitment to delivering high-quality work while adhering to strict quality standards and safety protocols within the marine industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare parts for painting by cleaning, sanding, and masking areas as needed.
- Apply primers, basecoats, and clear coats using spray guns and other tools.
- Inspect completed paint jobs to ensure they meet quality standards, including color and finish.
- Repair paint imperfections such as runs, sags, or uneven coverage.
- Strong organizational and time management skills to ensure jobs are completed on time.
- Maintain and clean painting tools, spray guns, and equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Follow all safety and environmental regulations.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Good color vision and aesthetic instincts.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to deliver high-quality finishes.
- Proficiency in using spray guns, sanding tools, and other painting equipment a plus.
- Commitment to safety protocols and maintaining a clean, organized workspace.
- Willingness to learn, listen, and take direction.
- Desire to continuously improve.
- Dependable, tough and self-motivated.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs., bend, squat, sit, and stand 8 hours per day.
