Our mission is to improve the well-being and permanence of children and their families by providing adoption competent mental health services, advancing learning to build a responsive national network of professionals, and transforming policy and practice through research and advocacy.


For over 25 years, C.A.S.E. has combined best practices and innovation to provide specialized individual and family therapy, psychiatric services and support groups, education, and training. We have become a local, national, and international resource for adoptive, foster, and kinship families and the professionals who support them. C.A.S.E. set out in 2021 on a new strategic direction to grow our clinical and training programs into a National Demonstration & Teaching Clinic – now known as the C.A.S.E. Academy, and the National Center for Adoption Competent Mental Health Services. It is an exciting time as we grow our evidenced-based adoption-competent clinical model and our accredited, award-winning training programs nationwide.


C.A.S.E has an annual budget of $12.5 million and a staff of 70 employees.


ABOUT THE POSITION


C.A.S.E. is seeking an experienced Social Media Strategist to lead our social media strategy and execution efforts. This is a critical role for a dynamic, mission-driven organization committed to supporting adoptive, foster, and kinship families. The ideal candidate will have at least 5–7 years of experience in social media marketing, demonstrating a strong ability to develop, implement, and manage cohesive strategies that increase brand awareness, engagement, and follower growth across multiple platforms.


As the Social Media Strategist, you will be responsible for creating high-impact campaigns, managing daily execution, analyzing performance, and driving innovation in alignment with C.A.S.E.'s strategic goals. You will collaborate closely with the Marketing Communications Team to ensure consistency across all channels while telling the C.A.S.E. story in compelling and authentic ways.


KEY RESPONSIBILTIIES


Social Media Strategy Development

  • Lead the creation and implementation of a forward-thinking social media strategy that supports C.A.S.E.’s mission and strategic goals.
  • Develop platform-specific goals, content strategies, and editorial calendars for Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, and emerging platforms.
  • Stay ahead of trends in social media marketing and adoption-related issues, integrating relevant innovations into C.A.S.E.’s approach.

Content Development and Execution

  • Oversee the creation of compelling, audience-first content in various formats, including graphics, video, written posts, and stories.
  • Collaborate with the Marketing team and external vendors to produce high-quality assets that resonate with adoptive, foster, and kinship care audiences.
  • Maintain a consistent brand voice and visual identity across all platforms.
  • Write and edit engaging copy for social media posts, ensuring accuracy, sensitivity, and creativity.

Community Engagement and Growth

  • Build and nurture an active online community, responding to inquiries, moderating comments, and fostering authentic connections.
  • Cultivate partnerships with influencers, stakeholders, and allied organizations to expand reach and engagement.

Analytics and Reporting

  • Monitor, measure, and report on social media performance using analytics tools such as Google Analytics, Sprout Social, or Hootsuite.
  • Analyze metrics to optimize strategies and inform data-driven decision-making.
  • Provide regular updates on performance to the Marketing team and senior leadership.

Team Collaboration

  • Work closely with the Marketing Communications Team and Program teams to align social media activities with organizational priorities and campaigns.

Provide coaching and insights to internal teams to amplify individual and team social media


  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Digital Media, or a related field.
  • 5-7 years of professional experience managing social media channels, preferably for non-profit organizations.
  • Proven success in crafting and executing comprehensive social media strategies that drive engagement and growth.
  • Expertise in major social platforms (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, Twitter/X) and experience with social media management tools like Hootsuite, Buffer, or Sprout Social.
  • Strong copywriting, editing, and storytelling skills.
  • Proficiency in digital marketing tools and analytics platforms (Google Analytics, Meta Ads Manager, etc.).
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and thrive in a deadline-driven environment.

Preferred

  • Experience in or passion for working with adoptive, foster, and kinship care families.
  • Familiarity with nonprofit communications, marketing, and fundraising strategies.
  • Graphic design and visual media experience.

  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple and changing demands with diplomacy, flexibility, and decorum.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including establishing and maintaining effective work relationships with a wide audience of internal and external partners.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills, including attention to detail and follow-through to ensure deadlines are met.
  • Ability to work independently, set meetings, and work schedules that best meet the team needs.
  • Ability to work in and constructively contribute to a harmonious cross-functional team.
  • Ability to strategically identify and define problem areas, seek creative and effective solutions, and apprise the CMO as may be appropriate.
  • Ability to use Zoom and other platforms as appropriate.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of information.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Windows-based PC environment and Microsoft Office tools such as Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED: This position reports to the Chief Marketing Officer.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Must pass required state and local background checks.

SALARY BENEFITS

Salary: $65,000-$82,000

Benefits: Competitive benefits include medical, sick leave and vacation, 403(B) retirement, and flexible hours. 12 Paid Holidays - including your birthday! - Vacation and Sick leave.

NOTE: This is a full-time hybrid position, requiring 2 days/week in our Burtonsville, MD office.
