What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Assistant position at Central Coast Pediatrics?
Looking to hire a Medical Assistant that has successfully completed an accredited program. CMA credentials are encouraged but not expected. We are a very busy Pediatric practice with 3 locations and 9 providers.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
· Creates a customer friendly environment utilizing cultural sensitivity and customer service skills
· Answers phone calls and makes call backs as needed
· Prepares rooms for the day.
· Escorts patients to room, prepare patients for exams
· Performs vital signs to include; Height/weight, blood pressure, head circumference for well visit,
· Documents chief complaint.
· Prepares chart / EMR for upcoming patient visits
· Performs vision and hearing screening as necessary (Audiometry/ Spotscreen / Snellen)
· Assists doctors as needed with sick and well visits as well as procedures
· Gives patient / families all age and visit appropriate handouts
· Assists as needed with securing prescription referrals, and test appointments as needed.
· Assists front desk as necessary with phones and appointment scheduling
· Rapid strep kits
· Urine dipstick
· Lead
· Hgb
· Prepares and administer immunizations
· Prepares urine analysis
· Prepares and performs strep test
· Performs glucose testing
· Performs lead testing
· Prepares laboratory requisitions
· Remains in the room during exam if requested by provider or family
· Prepares instruments for autoclave
· Orders and stocks supplies.
· Maintain the privacy and confidentiality of all patients and families by following HIPPA regulations and policies
· Cleans toys and/or exam rooms
· Miscellaneous duties as requested.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $21.00 per hour
