What are the responsibilities and job description for the WNESU Special Education Teacher/Behaviorist - Central Elementary School position at Central Elementary School?
WNESU is seeking a Special Education teacher to join our team at Central Elementary School to provide case management and specialized instruction for students with learning and social/emotional challenges. The ideal candidate will have experience implementing specialized instruction in reading and math, collecting and interpreting data, and using diagnostic tools to inform instruction. We are seeking a candidate with excellent communication and collaborative skills and a trauma-informed approach to supporting elementary students to meet their fullest potential. Applicants must have familiarity with multi-tiered systems of support, experience and skill differentiating academic curriculum, ability to supervise and collaborate with paraeducator staff, and experience implementing positive behavior intervention plans. Knowledge of Vermont special education documentation, regulations, and procedures is essential. We are looking for a motivated and creative professional to join our team!
Applicants must be certified (or eligible for certification) by the Vermont AOE as a Special Education AND Elementary Teacher in Vermont. Successful candidates will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, the ability to collaborate effectively with other staff, expertise in data collection, and proficiency in the Google platform. This position follows the WNESU school calendar. Salary and benefits as per the Master Agreement between the WNESU Board and the WNESU Association.
