Job Summary
We are seeking an Assistant Hotel Manager to help us open the NEW Residence Inn in Miamisburg, Ohio! As an Assistant Hotel Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of our hotel and providing exceptional customer service to our guests. This is a leadership position that requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to effectively communicate with both staff and guests.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Hotel Manager in overseeing daily hotel operations
- Manage front desk activities, including check-in/check-out procedures and guest inquiries
- Ensure guest satisfaction by addressing any concerns or issues promptly and professionally
- Collaborate with housekeeping and maintenance staff to maintain cleanliness and functionality of hotel facilities
- Assist with revenue management, including monitoring room rates and occupancy levels
- Train and supervise hotel staff, providing guidance and support as needed
- Maintain knowledge of hotel policies, procedures, and amenities to provide accurate information to guests
- Handle phone calls and reservations with professionalism and excellent phone etiquette
- Foster a positive work environment by promoting teamwork and open communication
- Approach all encounters with guests and employees in an attentive friendly courteous and service oriented manner.
- Maintain regular attendance in compliance with hotel standards as required by scheduling which will vary according to the needs of the hotel.
- Ensure the efficient operation of the hotel in the absence of the General Manager
- Assist the General Manager with the creation of financial reports as required by the Corporate Office. Meet all Corporate imposed deadlines as well as those imposed by the General Manager.
- Assist the General Manager in recruiting hiring and training for Guest Services based on occupancy
- Assist the General Manager to maintain compliance with Preventative Maintenance and Deep Cleaning Programs through the daily and/or weekly inspection of rooms with the Housekeeping Manager and Maintenance.
- Ensure that employees are at all times attentive friendly courteous and efficient in their interactions with guests management and all other employees.
- Be familiar with S.O.P.'s in all Operations departments.
- Maintain a professional working relationship and promote open lines of communication with managers employees and other departments.
- Complete required corporate training modules and become certified to train those as required.
- Be in the public areas during peak times greeting guests and offering assistance as needed.
- Maintain procedures for handling of the hotel safe specifically with regard to security
Skills
- Previous experience in hotel management or a related field is preferred
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a team
- Excellent customer service skills with a focus on guest satisfaction
- Proficient in using phone systems and other relevant technology
- Knowledge of revenue management principles and practices
- Ability to effectively manage budgets and financial resources
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Degree in Hospitality Management or a related field is a plus
