What are the responsibilities and job description for the Case Aide position at Chemung County?
The case aide works in the Division of Children and Family Services assisting the child welfare staff by providing administrative support services and performing professional functions related to implementing programs and delivery of services to clients. The work is primarily administrative in nature; however, a case aide may assist with research on cases, have contact with providers, clients, and members of the public, and may make eligibility determinations on a limited scale. Case aides act as a liaison between clients and other units of the Department of Social Services to ensure that benefits and services have been applied for and authorizing paperwork is processed. Progress-notes and other documentation related to services or contacts with clients and families may be completed. Case Aides may perform home visits for the purpose of obtaining information relevant to casework or benefit determination needs. The work is performed according to Federal, State and local social service regulations.

Requirements:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
A. Graduation from high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma and one (1) year of experience in a public or private agency providing patient or client services; or
B. Graduation from high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma and completion on 12 college credit hours in coursework related to human service, psychology, social work or a related field.
- Possession of a valid Driver’s License appropriate to the vehicles operated.
