What are the responsibilities and job description for the Center Food Service Worker position at Cherokee Nation?
Assists in meal preparation and serving, and cleans and sanitizes the area.
Job Duties:Cleans dining area by cleaning tables and equipment, and sweeping and mopping the dining room area. Replenishes needed condiments and supplies in dining room. Prepares menu board. Assists in food preparation as assigned. Assists in setting up food service bar. Assists in serving food as needed. Cleans dishes by rinsing and placing appropriately into dishwasher. Cleans counters, floors, equipment, and appliances. Removes dishes from dishwasher and stores in appropriate locations. Other duties may be assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
Qualifications:EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENT
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT
At least six (6) months of experience in a related field.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Must obtain Food Handler Certification from the Health Department within thirty (30) days of employment and maintain throughout employment.

The employee must not be and will not be under sanction by the United States Department of Health and Human Services Office of the Inspector General (OIG) or by the General Services Administration (GSA) or listed on the OIG's Cumulative Sanction Report, or the GSA's List of Excluded Providers, or listed on the OIG's List of Excluded Individuals/Entities (LEIE).
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear and taste or smell. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and ability to adjust focus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
Hours: Tuesday through Saturday 10am - 6pm
