What are the responsibilities and job description for the Counselor - Youth Court Alliance position at Children's Aid Society?
The Youth Court Alliance Counselor is a collaborative team member of the Youth Court Alliance Program. Under the general supervision of the Director of Clinical Services, the Youth Court Alliance Professional Counselor is responsible for assessing clients and developing therapeutic relationships, providing solution-focused counseling/talk therapy. The YCA Counselor educates clients, their caregivers, and the care team and plans, organizes, and facilitates groups and individual sessions with clients and caregivers.
Essential Functions

- Provides solution-focused therapy, including assessing the client’s mental/behavioral health needs.
- Completes new client intakes, assuring that releases, waivers, and permissions are signed by the appropriate person(s) or caregivers.
- Develops individual client goals and care plans with the client and the caregiver.
Education and Experience
- Master’s Degree in Counseling or similar, required
- Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Pennsylvania, preferred
- Knowledge and experience in electronic health records (EHR) with the ability to enter information and compile reports or data as needed
- Two years or more of previous experience in counseling
- One year or more of previous experience in medical billing
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a part-time position, and typical hours of workdays vary between Monday through Thursday, 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Travel
Moderate travel is expected for this position and eligible for mileage reimbursement.
