General Description and Classification Standards
Manages the cargo and parking facilities and the cargo parking database to provide excellent customer service and to ensure airport safety. Duties may include, but are not limited to: efficiently managing aircraft parking for charter and cargo flights; and overseeing cargo ramps and collecting aircraft parking fees.
Supervision Received
Performs work under general supervision with review and advice from manager or a senior level professional.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
These are typical responsibilities for this position and should not be construed as exclusive or all inclusive. May perform other duties as assigned.
  • Manages parking; approves aircraft parking from the airlines, approves cargo aircraft parking; maintains the cargo parking database which produces all financial reports for the department; collects parking fees from air crew and airline tenants based on the agreed rates.
  • Manages special charter flights; plans and coordinates flights; arranges parking spot fees and services; collects parking fees from air crew and airline tenants based on the agreed rates.
  • Prepares and updates a weekly cargo flight schedule that indicates times of arrival/departure and parking assignments.
  • Ensures the cargo ramps are properly maintained in accordance with lease agreements, enforces the Ramp Marshalling Plan and safety regulations; manages the cargo ramps and works with the cargo handlers and airlines; ensures cargo operations are run smoothly and that no two airlines arrive at one gate.
  • Provides excellent customer service; builds and establishes relationships with the airlines and tenants at the airport; serves as point of contact for clients.
  • Assists in snow and ice activities and emergencies.
  • Assists and aids the airside unit in daily and quarterly inspections.
  • Conducts inspection of airfield surfaces to ensure compliance with federal and safety regulations.
  • Maintains a daily operations log, incident reports, wildlife reports in accordance with the Airport Certification Manual (ACM).
  • Conducts a monthly Ground Service Equipment (GSE) audit and produces a monthly invoice for tenants.
  • Responds to and monitors all airfield emergencies or incidents; ensures the safe recovery of life, property, and restoration of normal operations is achieved.
  • Conducts and monitors the Airport Driver's Safety Training and Security (SIDA) courses.

  • Routinely provides work group leadership, guidance, and/or training to less experienced staff.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Knowledge of: airport regulations related to this job; of databases; of phonetic alphabet; of air traffic control radio terminology.
Skill in: multi-tasking within a fast-paced work environment providing critical decisions to ensure airport safety; in the use of computer and computer software.
Ability to: operate tools, equipment, and vehicles needed to perform this job which may include, VHF Radio, Motorola Radio, emergency lighting, pyrotechnic gun, etc.; to track weather conditions and take necessary actions for operations continuity.
