General Description and Classification Standards
Provides a variety of services related to the Regulatory Compliance business unit within the Department of Aviation’s Operations division to assure that the ongoing airport operations are carried out in accordance with Federal, State and Local regulations and policies. Ensure the safe and efficient movement of passengers throughout the airport while performing a wide range of tasks in support of Management. Responds to airport emergencies and coordinates appropriate resolution. Performs daily checks of airport facilities for compliance, coordinates safety procedures; prepares reports; and processes associated paperwork.
This is an entry skilled level capable of independently carrying out most assignments typical of the discipline with minimal to moderate supervision. This position requires working shift work to include weekends and holidays.
Supervision Received
Works under general supervision. May work independently or with other professionals to accomplish essential duties.

Monitors and coordinates passenger flow daily through the airport’s Security Screening Checkpoints. Coordinates with Airport Stakeholders to mitigate and manage Security Screening Checkpoint Queue lines;
Assist in performing daily checks of the airport’s terminals, concourses, parking lots, curbsides, airport access roadways and other airport facilities. Initiates work orders with appropriate agencies;
Assist in the response activities for emergencies and assists in coordinating their resolution in accordance with Airport Emergency Procedures and the National Incident Management System while providing updates to Emergency Management Staff;
Works extensively with Tenants, Federal and Local agencies as well as the traveling public, on a daily basis. Assists in providing operational guidance to Guest Relations Staff;
Prepares, distributes, and disseminates pertinent, significant and required reports (i.e. airport situational reports, airport incident/accident reports etc.) to executives, airport agencies, and tenants;
Repairs all Landside Operations crowd control equipment throughout the Central Passenger Terminal Complex ensuring operational readiness daily;
Enforces City codes & lease agreements, federal regulations, and departmental guidelines
Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge of basic airport operations, policies and procedures, emergency procedures and protocols; knowledge of airport physical layout and utility systems sufficient to be able to inspect and identify problematic situations; knowledge of safety procedures and precautions sufficient to be able to supervise, train, and provide safety instructions to others and to recognize and correct hazardous situations.
Possess skills in performing inspections and in reporting objectively and accurately; in interpersonal communications with airline, security, vendors, tenants and Airport staff.
Ability to assess operations and identify deviations from normal operations and potential hazards; to react to possibly hazardous situations and take appropriate action (e.g. contact emergency and/or operations staff, etc.), has the ability to multitask under extreme pressure;
The candidate will be knowledgeable and skilled in the use of computers; must be able to read, understand, and interpret federal regulations and related materials, must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office software.
Has knowledge of applicable laws, policies, standards and regulations pertaining to the specific duties and responsibilities of the job;
Is able to effectively communicate with the subordinates, tenants, federal officials, elected officials, management, other employees, and members of the general public.
Is able to assemble information and make written or oral reports or presentations in a clear, concise and effective manner;
Have good organizational, management, human relations and technical skills; able to use independent judgment and discretion in managing subordinates including the handling of emergency situations, determining and deciding upon procedures, maintaining standards, and resolving problems.
