Police Department - Crossing Guard
$15.91/hour
15 hour per week
The City of Attleboro, Police Department seeks one (1) Crossing Guard for the School year from September through June.
Duties and Objectives: To assist school children crossing streets at cross walks safely on their way to and from school during the school year. Controls traffic at crossing points for school children in pedestrian lane, assist and protects children while they cross the street. Maintains surveillance of children walking or playing near streets and warns them when necessary. Reports accidents or unusual traffic incidents to police. Assists children who are lost, injured or in need of assistance.
Requirements: Good communication skills with administrators, staff and general public consistent with duties of this position. Ability to relate to children, teachers, parents and motorists. Must be self directed and able to work without supervision. Knowledge of traffic rules and safety regulations pertaining to school crossing. Attendance and punctuality essential.
