Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Public Water Department Employee to join our team. This position offers a unique opportunity for rapid advancement within the department. Responsibilities
- Operate heavy equipment safely and efficiently for various water department tasks.
- Maintain and repair water treatment facilities, ensuring compliance with regulations.
- Utilize basic math skills for data collection and analysis related to water quality and system performance.
- Work with logic controllers and distributed control systems to monitor and control water treatment processes.
- Conduct regular inspections of water lines, pumps, and treatment facilities to identify maintenance needs.
- Perform heavy lifting as required during maintenance and repair tasks.
- Assist in plumbing activities related to the installation and repair of water distribution systems.
- Collect data on system performance and report findings to management for further action.
- Collaborate with team members to build effective solutions for operational challenges.
Qualifications
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- A high school diploma or equivalent, AND four (4) years of experience in Street Department &/or Water/Wastewater management, two (2) years of which are/were in an administrative or supervisor capacity.
- Must be able to pass a background investigation and drug screen.
- Valid ODEQ Water and Wastewater Operator licenses or MUST obtain within the first six (6) months of employment.
- Valid Oklahoma driver's license &/or Valid Oklahoma CDL.
- Experience in heavy equipment operation is preferred.
- Knowledge of water treatment processes is a plus.
- Basic math skills are essential for data collection and analysis tasks.
- Familiarity with logic controllers and distributed control systems is advantageous.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting as needed in various tasks.
- Strong problem-solving skills with a logical approach to challenges.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
