JOB SUMMARY:
The Software Administrator works with the enterprise work order and asset management team to plan and execute configuration, maintenance, and upgrades of the Cityworks application. Cityworks is a GIS centric service request used to track activity across several departments and divisions within the City of Erie. Responsible for integration, collection and analysis of data into the management and evaluation of city functions; plays a central role in developing, collecting, analyzing, and presenting data via internal and external dashboards to empower city leaders to monitor progress on outcomes related to city services and initiatives and to make data-informed decisions regarding tax dollars and grant funding.
SPECIFIC DUTIES: The duties of this job include, but are not limited to:
1. Administer the Cityworks application from a business and technical perspective via configuration and administration tools.
2. Perform testing of software and software configurations and implementation of upgrades.
3. Maintain security roles within the Cityworks application.
4. Provide configuration and support on various platforms and databases related to Cityworks, GIS, and other business applications.
5. Create, maintain, and publish GIS maps for consumption within the Cityworks application.
6. Handle escalated customer incidents, problems and service requests related to Cityworks in a timely manner.
7. Design reports and analytics within Cityworks, Crystal Reports, and other analytics tools.
8. Anticipate and prevent problems and roadblocks before they occur; present technical issues and their impact to management with recommendations for solutions.
9. Collect and analyze data related to city operations, administrative, demographic, economic, and community development to assess efficiency and effectiveness of city services; work with city departments and agencies to measure outcomes, present conclusions and recommendations.
10. Create quantitativemeasures to adjust, weigh, and assess the significant differences, trends, or relationships that exist among data.
11. Prepare graphics, reports, memos, dashboards, and materials for presentations and communications.
12. Develop and maintain policy for data sharing internally and externally.
13. Perform other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's Degree in a related field and 1 years of information technology experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.
Experience administrating an Enterprise Asset Management or Work Management Application such as Cityworks. ESRI GIS tools and concepts preferred.
Experience with business and technical requirements analysis, business process modeling/mapping and methodology development, and data mapping preferred..
Ability to implement technical solutions through all phases of the application development lifecycle
Strong communication skills (written/verbal) that demonstrate understanding of complex technical details, clarity of thought, and the ability to understand users and their needs.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, Access, Visio).
Working knowledge of enterprise application administration, relational databases (MS SQL Server preferred), reporting and/or data analytics tools (Crystal Reports, SQL, etc.).
