DESCRIPTION SUMMARY:
The Human Resource Coordinator aids with and facilitates the human resource processes at all business locations. This role provides administrative support to the Human Resources/Risk Management and Executive Department as needed, including employee recognition and engagement, onboarding, workers compensation, record-keeping, file maintenance and HRIS data entry.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS-Include, but may not be limited to:
- Performs customer service functions by answering employee requests and questions.
- Completes Forms I-9, verifies I-9 documentation and maintains I-9 files.
- Reconciles invoices.
- Assists with processing of terminations.
- Assists with recruitment and interview process. Tracks status of candidates in HRIS and responds with follow-up letters at the end of the recruiting process.
- Schedules meetings and interviews as requested by the Human Resources Director.
- Makes photocopies; mails, scans and emails documents; and performs other support functions.
- Files documents into appropriate employee files.
- Assists or prepares correspondence as requested.
- Prepares new-employee files.
- Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments. This may include safety training, anti-harassment training, professional licensure, driver’s license, and aptitude exams and certifications.
- Facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
- Conducts or acquires background checks and employee eligibility verifications.
- Implements new hire orientation and employee recognition programs.
- Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
- Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, employment law, and leave management.
- Records the results of performance reviews and related pay raises.
- Collaborates with department heads to ensure that job descriptions are regularly reviewed and updated as duties change as roles evolve.
- Ensures that new and accurate job descriptions are written when new positions are created and filled.
- Assists with the design and implementation of event and recognition programs.
- Assists with preparation of government reports.
- Processes mail.
- Performs other related duties as assigned for the City’s Executive Department.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $21.95 - $44.30 per hour
