The Technology Solutions Department is actively seeking a Senior GIS Software Developer.

The Senior GIS Software Developer reports to the GIS Manager and is responsible for performing the analysis, design, development, implementation, maintenance and modification of automated geographic information systems, databases, software, and equipment.
Primary responsibilities include the following:
- Designs and develops Geographic Information Systems (GIS) applications and integrates GIS web services with .Net applications.
- Maintain and support Arcgis Server and ArcObject applications in development, QA, and production environments.
- Ensures GIS applications adhere to current IT infrastructure to maintain performance and scalability.
- Provides recommendations for technicians on map publishing techniques to ensure data integrity and continuation of operations.
- Develops new applications as well as enhancements and migration of existing applications.
- Develops applications in the mobile environment meeting the needs of city operations and the general public.
- Assigns, oversees, and monitors the work of others.
- Performs other job-related duties as required.

- Knowledge of specialized GIS software including Environmental Systems Research Institute (ESRI) ArcGIS for Desktop products and doing GIS Data Modeling and Geodatabase Administration.
- Knowledge, understanding and utilization of the standard ESRI methodology of geodatabase design.
- Knowledge and understanding of how to resolve version conflicts, resolve spatial (topology) and attributes errors that arise during versioning and exporting of updated (edited) data in ArcSDE.
- Ability to do GIS application development, using desktop and web-based tools (preferably ESRI ArcGIS Server and ArcObjects).
- Ability to create and administer multi-versioned Geodatabase and perform multi-user edits (reconcile and post) for ArcGIS client applications.
- Ability to oversee and monitor the work of others.
Six (6) years of education and/or professional experience in the analysis, design, and development of software applications
which includes at least three (3) years utilizing .Net, JavaScript and databases such as SQLServer or Oracle.
Experience with Microsoft development tools: Visual Studio (2012 or later), web technologies - ASP/ASP.NET (4.0 and 4.5), HTML, Javascript, and SQL Server database is preferred.
Experience with software development using JDeveloper JQuery, JavaScript and C# is preferred.
