- Open and close the pool each day, depending on schedule and hours
- Monitor pool chemicals to ensure the pool is safe for bathers
- Monitor pool-related activities closely throughout shift and identify and respond accordingly to any safety issues or concerns
- Direct swimmers out of the pool in hazardous conditions
- Monitor weather reports closely to ensure safety of guests
- Provide swimming lessons
- Maintain a clean environment in and around the pool and locker rooms
- Must be at least 16 years of age, if 16-18 years old, must provide a work permit.
- Must be available to work between May - August.
- Must be Ellis Lifeguard Certified before employment will begin.
- All necessary training and expenses are provided by the City of Kalamazoo.
- All training is provided.
- Prior pool/lifeguard experience is not necessary, but preferred.
Salary : $13
