POSITION SUMMARY:
Under direct supervision, provides administrative support to the Human Resources Department. Performs customer service functions and assists employees with completion of HR related paperwork. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Physical Demands: Moderate physical work with the ability to lift 25 pounds. Occasional lifting, carrying, walking and standing, hand/eye coordination for operation of personal computer; vision for reading and preparing documents and written reports; frequent speech communication, hearing and listening to maintain communications with employees and citizens.
Work Environment: Works primarily in clean, comfortable environment. Subject to many interruptions and pressure due to multiple calls and inquiries. Routinely communicates with and meets with employees and citizens and must be able to travel back and forth between buildings to carry out necessary functions of this position.Late applications will not be accepted. - Assist with new employee orientation and onboarding process.
- File employee records in appropriate personnel or designated file.
- Assure filing is up to date and assist with purging process according to record retention policies and procedures.
- Assist with City sponsored employee events/projects as requested.
- Assist with pre?employment screens for volunteers, seasonal and part time employees.
- Assure and maintain confidentiality of employee concerns, records, and communications.
- Complete mailings as requested to respondents, including current and previous employees and applicants, to include regret notices.
- Assist with special assignments as requested.
- Assist with employee training.

- High School diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred or current High School Student (must be 17).
- One (1) year of previous office experience preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suites programs, including Excel and Word.
- Previous Human Resources experience is helpful.
