What are the responsibilities and job description for the Building Technician V (Carpenter) position at City of Pasadena?
Duties: Perform general carpentry such as changing locks on doorknobs, hanging doors, repairing sheetrock, painting and other miscellaneous repairs as required. Install, replace and repair ceiling tile, floor tile, drywall, painting and wall paper. Perform all maintenance repairs in accordance with and state codes, regulations and safety procedures; stay abreast of changes in city codes. Install, maintain, repair and adjust all makes of door locks and fastening devices, door closures, and overhead doors. Build, repair, and install office furniture, counters, cabinets, shelves, tables, benches, partitions, floors, doors, building framework, and trims. Install metal studs, metal doors, and frames. Perform finish carpentry work, i.e., moldings, trim work, cabinets, etc. Perform preventative maintenance on carpentry equipment. Inspect work performed by outside contractors. Work the assigned schedule and comply with City timekeeping and attendance policy. Must have and maintain, without interruption, all necessary licenses, certifications, clearances, and/or job requirements. Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications: High school education or GED. Three years' experience in carpentry work or one year of formal training in one of the craft areas: carpentry, electrical, plumbing, HVAC may substitute for one year of experience. Possess valid Texas driver's license.
