About The Position
The City of Redwood City is seeking a value-driven team player to fill the position of Information Systems Analyst in the Information Technology Department. This 2-year contract management analyst I position will work full-time (40 hours per week) and will primarily support the City’s Community Development and Engineering departments. The position will report to the GIS and Analytics Manager or designee.

Ideal Candidate
Will have a minimum of 2 years’ application support experience and thorough knowledge of various municipal software applications and enterprise systems; a background conducting data analysis and creating data virilization tools; a solid understanding of business procedures of municipal government; will have the ability to synthesize, summarize, evaluate, and/or identify information; will use initiative and judgment to analyze relevant data; will be able to take direction and follow established policies and procedures; will be a team player who is able to work effectively with a variety of City staff; will be detail-oriented and will have strong written and oral communication skills. Experience with Tableau or Power BI is a plus.

About The Position
The City of Redwood City is seeking a value-driven team player to fill the position of Information Systems Analyst in the Information Technology Department. This 2-year contract management analyst I position will work full-time (40 hours per week) and will primarily support the City’s Community Development and Engineering departments. The position will report to the GIS and Analytics Manager or designee.
Typical duties may include, but are not limited to the following:
- Provide technical support to end-users of various on-premises and cloud-based applications within the City’s Community Development and Engineering Departments
- Assist in the management and maintenance of enterprise systems and online applications, such as the permitting system, short-term rental monitoring system, online appointment system, and public data access system.
- Assist with the development of new or revised system processes and procedures, develop action plans, and test and implement system improvements and modifications.
- Recommend process/customer service improvements, innovative solutions, policy changes and/or major variations from established policy that must be approved by appropriate leadership prior to implementation.
- Coordinate with vendors to report and resolve system bugs, schedule and implement system maintenance and upgrades, and recommend system/application improvements
- Perform data analysis, run SQL queries, create reports, and develop data visualization tools (dashboards, graphs) utilizing tools such as Excel, Power BI, and/or Tableau
- Provide staff with end-user application training, create detailed training manuals/guides, and document user procedures and workflow processes.
