Job Summary:
The Recreation Coordinator – Aquatics is responsible for planning, organization, and implementation of all aquatic activities for the City of Rifle. This role includes managing the maintenance, care, and operation of aquatics facilities, equipment, and assisting with youth and adult programs during the off-pool season. The coordination will ensure a safe and engaging environment for both participants and staff. This position is involved in hiring and supervision of the part-time Aquatic Manager and seasonal pool staff. This is an in-person position that is not eligible for remote work.
Experience and Training:
Minimum Education: Associates Degree required. Bachelor's degree in Recreation Management or related field preferred. Consideration will be given for a combination of education and related work experience.
Job Requirements: Valid Colorado Driver’s License or ability to obtain with six months of hire. Must be able to pass a background check and MVR with results that are acceptable to the City of Rifle. Ability to work evening and weekend hours as required.
Job Certifications: Aquatic Facility Operator certification or Certified Pool Operator, or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire. Certification as a Water Safety Instructor Trainer preferred or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire. As well as Lifeguard Instructor certification, American Red Cross First Aid and CPR Trainer certification, or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire.
Work Experience in Positions Similar or Related to This Job:
Three years related experience in the field of recreation; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.
Two years as a team leader or supervisor preferred.
This position is Full-time with benefits including Medical, Dental, Vision, and Life insurance, retirement, vacation, sick, and holiday Pay.
