What are the responsibilities and job description for the Waterslide Attendant position at City of Shoreview?
We are currently hiring for all shifts. Year-round and seasonal positions (June 1 - August 26) are available.
The Shoreview Community Center is a fast-paced environment with over 500,000 visitors to our facility each year. Our 3-story waterslide is a main attraction in our waterpark as it twists and turns its way outside the building, then back inside, and ending with a watery splash! Guests can choose light and sound options to enhance their experience. This position is responsible for ensuring the safety of our guests while making sure fun is had by all.
In addition, we have pool rentals and special events that need staffing. Staff must attend two hours of in-service training each month and other meetings as posted.
NOTE: Your training, materials, BLS CPR/AED, Standard First Aid, supplemental oxygen, and waterslide dispatch certification are FREE.
*** Waterslide attendant certification training is delivered through a combination of on-line and in-person training. Employees are compensated at a rate of $11.25 per hour for their waterslide attendant certification training.
Up to $20/hour for weekend shifts and special events.

- Control access to the waterslide entrance
- Provide supervision to those waiting to use the waterslide
- Ensure the safety of all guests using the waterslide
- Prevent accidents through proper supervision and consistent rule enforcement
- Respond to emergency situations, following established guidelines and maintaining composure
- Report any waterslide safety concerns or any unsafe conditions in the pool area to pool management
- Attend staff meetings and participate in required trainings
- Complete any cleaning or maintenance duties as assigned
- Be available to work a variety of hours including evenings and weekends
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks with a high level of consistency and quality
- Must be comfortable with heights
- Must be able to ascend and descend stairs multiple times during a shift
- Must be at least 16 years old
- Mondays & Wednesdays: 4:30 - 7:15 pm
- Tuesdays & Thursdays: 4 - 7:15 pm
- Fridays: 4:30 - 8:15 pm
- Saturdays: 9:45 am - 7:15 pm
- Sundays: 11:30 am - 6:15 pm
- Mondays & Wednesdays: 12 - 7:15 pm
- Tuesdays & Thursdays: 9:45 am - 7:15 pm
- Fridays: 12 - 8:15 pm
- Saturdays: 9:45 am - 7:15 pm
