Annual Salary Range:
Information Technology Support Analyst I - $59,539 - $79,484

Information Technology Support Analyst II - $70,716 - $94,406

This position is part of a flexible classification. Qualified candidates may be hired at either level based on their experience, education and training as determined by the hiring authority.

DESCRIPTION

The Information Technology Support Analyst will assess, troubleshoot, and follow established guidelines to solve hardware, software, and networking problems and to provide primary and secondary technical assistance to all departments via phone, remote network technology and on-site customer support.

Duties include, but are not limited to the following:
Provide remote and on-site technical support to the police department, both local and global telecommuters, support enterprise hardware, software, related peripherals.
Assist with oversight of all police related hardware including police desktops, mobile devices, body-worn cameras, VPN connectivity, and in-car technology as needed.
Assist in evaluating and making recommendations regarding end user computing resources for application performance, software application usage and future upgrade needs, and recommend improvements and modification to computer system software models used on police department workstations.
Obtain price quotes and procure software and computer equipment for police internal customers. Assists with maintaining accurate inventory records for hardware and software licensing. Coordinate receiving, delivery and warehousing of computer and police technology equipment.
Assist with software deployment through application virtualization, automated deployment packages, or use of enterprise system management tools.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Work Experience:
Information Technology Support Analyst I

Requires two (2) years of customer service experience.

Information Technology Support Analyst II

Requires three (3) years of experience in either telecommunications operations, technical customer service operations and/or service desk support of desktop hardware and software on an enterprise\industrial network.

Candidates must have the minimum amount of work experience. Years of experience are based upon a full-time work schedule (2,080 hours per year). The sum of an applicant’s full-time and/or part-time qualifying work experience must meet or exceed the stated minimum qualification. Education will not substitute for the required work experience; however, related unpaid and/or volunteer work experience may be used as qualifying work experience.

Education:
Both levels

Requires the equivalent to an associate degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in computer information systems or degree related to the core functions of this position.

The term “equivalent” means that directly related work experience exceeding the required work experience will substitute in equal time increments for college-level education, for example: one year of additional directly related work experience will substitute for one year of college education (30 credit hours).

Certification, Licenses, and/or Registrations:
Both levels

Possession of a valid driver’s license.
Possession of, or required to obtain within six (6) months of hire, one of the listed certifications.
Possession of or required to obtain within six (6) months of hire, a Terminal Operator Certification through the Arizona Criminal Justice Information Systems (ACJIS) Division.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

Criminal history background investigation

Police background check
Polygraph examination
