Home School Art Instructor

Our Homeschool Art Instructor is responsible for planning, setup, implementation, and cleanup of a successful Art education program. This position works in conjunction with a Homeschool Physical Education Instructor

Reports to: Recreation Supervisor
Salary: $22 per hour
Hours: Tuesdays, September-April from 11:30am-3:00pmSpecific Job Responsibilities:

• Participate in pre-season staff orientation/training program.
• Organize and lead weekly Art activities for three age groups of children, ranging 4.5-18 years old at Schuetze Recreation Center.
• Develop and implement curriculum that provides fun, creative and safe activities for participants.
• Responsible for inventory and purchasing of art supplies.
• To complete all reports in a timely fashion, i.e. daily attendance, accident reports, requisition forms, timecards.
• Provide first aid as needed and complete appropriate accident report.
• Emphasize and model proper behavior in class and around PE equipment.
• Attend staff meetings.
• Dress appropriately when on duty.
• Follow all City of Waukesha work rules.
• Return all keys and required equipment at the end of the season.

Qualifications:

• Must be 18 years or older
• Prior experience working with school age children in an art capacity
• Strong leadership skills.
• Strong organizational and classroom management skills.
• Mature, responsible personality.
• Ability to communicate, be courteous and cooperate with other staff members and the public
