The purpose of this dynamic position is to oversee the City’s comprehensive parking operations and to guide its strategic growth and expansion. The parking manager is responsible for providing leadership and industry expertise for the administration of the parking services and enterprise fund. The parking enterprise fund currently includes management of over 6,200 public parking spaces which include 7 off-street parking facilities, 1,600 on-street parking spaces comprised of metered, residential permit and time-limited parking spaces and approximately 1,300 on-street parking spaces that do not have any associated time restrictions, with anticipated growth. This is a unique opportunity to impact the parking landscape of Wilmington, NC by balancing the parking needs of residents, employees, business and property owners, and visitors.

Administer the parking services contract and contractorDevelop new, revised and long-term parking growth plansResponding to parking related media requestsAssisting with design and functionality of new or upgraded parking facilities and processes Preparation and administration of the annual parking enterprise budgetManage parking related maintenance and capital projects Acts as City liaison for parking related committeesProvides parking support, expertise and relevant information to elected officials, City Council, City committees and other departmentsManages, directs and evaluates assigned parking staff Performs other related duties as assigned.
SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Exerting up to 20 lbs. occasionally, 10 lbs. frequently, or negligible amounts constantly OR may require walking or standing to a significant degree through parking garages.WORKING CONDITIONS: This position generally requires work indoors/office setting. Some outdoor work may be necessary for particular events and walking parking garages.
