What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sanitation Tech (Forklift) position at Classic Salads?
DESCRIPTION OF JOB SCOPE
Sanitation 2 is an employee in the sanitation department. After orientation and initial chemical safety training, the employee will begin learning and practicing cleaning and sanitation methods at Classic Salads. Also assist the production department as needed. Employee will be required to follow all OSHA forklift guidelines.
DESCRIPTION OF JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Adhere to all Classic Salads Food Safety and GMP Policies, including Basic Policies (TRN-0101, TRN-102, TRN-103. TRN-104. TRN-105. TRN-1061.
- Complete Classic Salads Standard Sanitation Procedures (TRN-0400), CS-SOP-01, CS-SOP-6037
- Clean without direct supervision, areas inside/outside exposed product rooms that are away from product contact surfaces (walls, floors, drains, etc.)
- Perform all work and assigned tasks according to company SSOP (Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures) and master sanitation.
- Clean with direct supervision from supervisor/manager food contact sufaces (belts, shakers, wash tanks, elevators, scales, etc), areas immediately adjacent to food contact surfaces, and areas directly over food contact surfaces.
- Operate chemical dispensing equipment, sanitation equipment, machinery controls, and various tools.
- Clean around outside company grounds (parking lots, back of plant, walls, etc.)
- Wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): bump cap, hearing protection, hair net, beard net, eye protection (goggles), face shield, gloves, slip resistant shoes, wet/rain suit, apron etc.
- Able to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Able to work under pressure and time requirements.
- Able to work in a cold/wet environment (34-36 F)
- Use a pallet jack manually occasionally
- Report all injuries and incidents big or small to supervisor/manager.
- Forklift license required.
- Use basic math and organization skills daily.
- Be conscious to reduce material spoilage.
- Follow all OSHA requirements for lift trucks.
- Complete a forklift inspection before use daily.
- Follow adequate procedure to charge forklifts
EDUCATION AND/OR WORK EXPERIENCE
1 to 2 years experience in sanitation in a food manufacturing environment preferred. Able to follow simple instructions.
Forklift license required.
