The Battery (BESS) Division of CES provides a full suite of services to BESS customers, from EPC Advisory / Construction management, & Commissioning, to OEM (preventive, corrective, and predictive), Repowers, Augmentation, and Remote Operations and Control services. We employ highly skilled technicians and deploy the necessary equipment, enabling us to deliver turnkey solutions to our valued customers.
CES is seeking an experienced Project Manager for our BESS (Battery Energy Storage Systems) Projects in North America. The Project Manager will work hand-in-hand with CES Leadership, the construction management team, subcontractors, procurement, engineering, and other support staff. The position will provide overall support & leadership in safety, reporting, bidding, project quality, timing, and mentorship to the project team.

Travel Percentage: 25%
Location: This role is based out of our Houston headquarters. Regular and frequent travel to projects can be expected.
Qualifications
SKILLS & ABILITIES
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., mechanical engineering, construction) or equivalent experience.
- Proven experience as an engineer or project manager
- Strong understanding of project management methodologies, tools, and techniques
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft office, project management software and collaboration tools
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Solid understanding of battery storage systems, including design, installation, and operation
- BESS Facility & Substation Construction experience required.
- Knowledge of the Civil & electrical construction preferred.
- Must be detail-oriented.
- Communication skills to convey information in reports, meetings, and status reports.
- Ability to operate under deadlines while still meeting standards.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- The PM’s primary accountability is the successful management of client relationship & 3rd party contractors to deliver safe, on-schedule, on-budget BESS projects to a high level of quality which meet the project’s proforma objectives in revenue, quality, and cost.
- Coordinate and lead across multifunctional groups including HSE, Finance, and BESS Operations to ensure the project(s) are delivered successfully.
- Track and report to leadership on main project goals budget, schedule, safety, quality, etc.
- Assist with the coordination of schedule and scope between the client, contractor, owner- procured suppliers, interconnect utility, & other key project stakeholders.
- Maintain clear and effective communication with project team management in coordination with internal/external stakeholders in the company including providing written daily/weekly reports.
- Managing client, contractor, and equipment supplier obligations including tracking deliverables, invoices, schedules, cashflow, requests for information, managing change orders, and providing notices or dispute resolution if required.
- Determine and define project scope and objectives.
- Predict resources needed to reach objectives and manage resources in an effective and efficient manner.
- Prepare budget based on scope of work and resource requirements & track project costs in order to meet budget.
- Lead contract negotiations, to ensure all requirements, schedule and cost are achievable.
- Prepare for project execution by ensuring that all personnel on site have the appropriate equipment, tooling, and work instructions.
