Job Overview
The Peer to Peer position is designed for individuals who are passionate about supporting others in their journey toward recovery and wellness in a psychiatric rehabilition program. This role involves providing guidance, encouragement, and support to individuals facing challenges related to mental health and addiction. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of behavioral health systems and demonstrate empathy and compassion in their interactions.

Duties
- Provide one-on-one support to individuals navigating mental health or addiction challenges.
- Facilitate group sessions that promote sharing experiences and coping strategies.
- Utilize motivational interviewing techniques to encourage positive behavior change.
- Assist clients in developing personal goals and action plans for recovery.
- Implement crisis intervention strategies when necessary to ensure client safety.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to coordinate care and resources for clients.
- Serve as a mentor, sharing personal experiences to inspire hope and resilience.
- Maintain accurate documentation of client interactions and progress.

Skills
- Strong background in social work or addiction counseling is preferred.
- Proficient in motivational interviewing techniques to engage clients effectively.
- Knowledge of behavioral health systems and resources available for clients.
- Experience in crisis management and intervention strategies.
- Ability to provide mental health counseling with empathy and understanding.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective interaction with clients and team members.
- Proven mentoring skills, with the ability to inspire others through shared experiences.

-Create activities and outlets for clients to use at home and in the community.

-May involve transporting the clients.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Contract

Pay: $15.50 - $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week
