Janitor

SUMMARY OF FUNCTIONS:

Under the general supervision of the Department Supervisor, the Janitor is responsible for performing janitorial duties for the office areas, warehouse and manufacturing floor where applicable.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Daily job responsibilities/functions include, but not limited to:

• Vacuuming, sweeping, scrubbing and mopping floors.
• Clean and sanitize bathrooms.
• Clean sinks, countertops, microwaves and refrigerators in lunch room.
• Restock supplies in bathrooms and lunch room.
• Empty all trash cans and replace liners.
• Empty all recycle bins on a daily basis and place in proper recycling container.
• Dusting and cleaning office desks and furniture.
• Cleaning windowsills, windows and walls.
• Maintain janitor closets in a clean, organized and safe manner.
• Maintain janitorial equipment in a clean, safe and operable condition including balers, green carts and floor scrubbers.
• Proper labeling, dilution and use of all chemicals.
• Handling of heavy bulky items
• Operate floor scrubber machine
• Wearing proper Personal Protective Equipment at all times.
• Set up before and clean up after events and/or meetings.
• Be able to climb and work safely from a scissor lift or ladder
• Follow building security and safety procedures.
• Notify Maintenance Technician if repairs are needed in building or operating system.
• Run errands, pick up supplies and take recycling to center when needed
• Performs other duties as requested or assigned by Supervisor

QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS:

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
• Prior janitorial experience preferred
• Experience working in a manufacturing environment preferred
• Solid work history
• Valid driver’s license
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to multi-task and follow oral and written instructions
• Highly motivated and able to work independently but also work effectively with a team
• Basic knowledge of cleaning products or willing to learn

Rate of Pay: $15.00 per hour

Shift: Monday through Friday, 8am-4:30pm
