Your Role:
As Heavy Equipment Operator – Excavator / Loader youwill be responsible for operating excavators and loaders to handle waste materials efficiently and safely. This role requires strong technical expertise, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety.
- Operate excavators and loaders to move, load, and transport waste materials at various sites
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of equipment to ensure safety and compliance with regulatory requirements
- Conduct routine maintenance and minor repairs on equipment to ensure optimal performance
- Follow site plans and instructions to complete tasks accurately and efficiently.
- Ensure compliance with all safety protocols and regulations while operating equipment
- Communicate with team members and supervisors to coordinate tasks and ensure smooth operations
- Maintain detailed records of equipment usage, maintenance, and any issues encountered
- Assist in site clean-up and organization as needed
What We’re Looking For:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or associate degree in heavy equipment operation preferred
- Proven experience as a heavy equipment operator, preferably in the waste management or construction industry
- Strong knowledge of excavator and loader operation, maintenance, and safety procedures
- Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and equipment
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Preferred: Bilingual (Spanish or Creole)
