We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Chemist III/Toxicologist to join the Analytical Chemistry team at Abbott Labs. This role is instrumental in developing and validating LCMS (Liquid Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry) test methods for drug testing in oral fluid and urine samples. You will play a critical part in supporting product release activities for calibrators and controls used with clinical chemistry analyzers, including 510(k) cleared assays.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and optimize LCMS test methods for drug testing in biological matrices, including oral fluid and urine samples.
- Conduct Test Method Characterizations (TMC) and Test Method Validations (TMV) to ensure product quality and compliance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support calibrators and controls for clinical assays, ensuring regulatory requirements are met.
- Document, analyze, and report experimental results adhering to industry standards and best practices.
Qualifications
- Proven expertise in LCMS test method development, TMC, and TMV processes.
- Hands-on experience with Shimadzu LCMS systems and Hamilton liquid handling platforms (e.g., STAR, STARlet, or Nimbus).
- Strong knowledge of working in FDA-regulated environments, particularly with 510(k)-cleared assays.
Preferred Skills
- Robust background in toxicology and analytical chemistry, with a focus on clinical applications.
- Familiarity with clinical assay development and validation processes.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or collaboratively within a team.
