This position is responsible for maintaining business software systems, providing escalation support for the help desk team, and managing mobile devices. The Systems Support Engineer is a critical role requiring high technical aptitude and reports directly to the Chief Information Officer.
The primary responsibilities of this position are:
- System Support and Maintenance: The Systems Support Engineer will maintain and support business software systems, hardware, and SharePoint sites across the organization. They will serve as the lead technical expert for designated systems, providing comprehensive user support and escalation assistance, including after-hours support when necessary.
- Help Desk and User Training: This role involves delivering Tier 2 support for the help desk and managing user support tickets during high-volume periods. The engineer will also be responsible for training both users and help desk personnel on assigned systems, ensuring smooth operation and efficient problem-solving.
- Device Management: The Systems Support Engineer will oversee the enterprise Mobile Device Management (MDM) platform, managing all aspects of company-deployed mobile devices and the cell phone fleet. They will be tasked with installing, configuring, and managing various communication systems, including phones, faxing equipment, bells, and paging systems.
- Vendor and Asset Management: A key aspect of this position is overseeing vendor relationships, contracts, and renewals for software and systems. The engineer will research products, prepare specifications as needed, and maintain a comprehensive software license repository in collaboration with the IT Helpdesk team.
