Librarian
Responsibilities:
Oversee the library’s circulation desk operations and manage the library’s collection, including books, academic periodicals, trade magazines, newspapers, and DVDs.
- Assist users with coursework research on the internet and e-databases and provide bibliographic instruction to students.
- Respond to questions related to relevant resources for college-level research.
- Ensure students have the resources they need to enhance and support their coursework and research.
- Provide instruction (online and on-ground) and measure students for Information Literacy competence.
- Supervise and direct student workers and provide support to The Learning Center and Testing Services.
- Visit Transformative Learning to educate all new students on the functions of the library and show them how to navigate the different databases, citation methods, and other library resources.
Requirements:
- MLS, MSLS, MSLIS, or MSIS degree accredited by the American Library Association.
- Customer service experience in an academic department, college or public library, or information center.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
- Proven record of reliability and punctuality.
- Strong database and internet skills.
- Availability for some evening and Saturday hours.
Annual Salary Range: $55,000 – $58,500
