Columbine Country Club is seeking a passionate and experienced First Assistant Superintendent to join our dedicated agronomy team. This critical role supports maintaining and enhancing our Championship Course, Par 3 Course, and the entire club’s grounds, ensuring world-class quality and playability. Working closely with the Golf Course Superintendent and Director of Grounds, this position involves executing comprehensive management plans across all facets of our property.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in planning and implementing golf course maintenance practices.
- Supervise, train, and inspire grounds staff to achieve exceptional course conditions.
- Oversee and perform fertilizers and pesticide applications in compliance with all regulations.
- Monitor course conditions, including turf health and irrigation systems, and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Ensure proper operation, maintenance, and calibration of equipment.
- Collaborate on budget planning, inventory management, and maintenance schedules.
- Promote a culture of safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with the Director of Grounds and Superintendent on renovation and improvement projects.
- Step into the Golf Course Superintendent’s role as needed.

Requirements
Educational Requirements
- 2- or 4-year degree or certificate in Turfgrass Management or a related field.
- Colorado pesticide applicator’s license or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire.
Experience Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years of golf course maintenance experience, with leadership experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of agronomy, turfgrass science, and irrigation systems.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
- Passion for golf and a commitment to delivering world-class member experience.
Salary : $75,000 - $80,000
