Job Description Summary:
The Personal Banker I is responsible for providing exceptional client service to our customers with enthusiasm, accuracy, and efficiency. The Personal Banker will seek to attract, expand, and retain clients by identifying products and services to enhance the client experience with the company. The position will have a thorough understanding of the client’s transaction requirements and be able to effectively communicate options.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
  • Provide remarkable service to our clients (internal & external) every day by following the defined Service Standards as determined by the Company.
  • Build relationships with clients, anticipate their needs, and educate them on our product and service options that may enhance their relationship.
  • Responsible for building and maintaining a customer base by having a thorough knowledge of bank products and services.
  • Ability to ascertain the client’s needs/goals and provide the appropriate solutions.
  • Proficient in opening new accounts for all consumer clients including personal, joint, UTMA, HSA, and other accounts as determined by the Bank.
  • Assist in opening simple business accounts and gathering business documentation.
  • Promote bank services to new and existing customers while maintaining accurate customer account information.
  • Answer client service inquiries and provide Notary Public Services.
  • Assist management as needed including with monthly branch certifications and acting as a back-up client services specialist when necessary.
  • Order and print debit cards and checks.
  • Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Requires 1 year of prior experience in a financial institution with a thorough understanding of branch banking operations.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
  • Excellent customer service skills, attentiveness, information retention, tact, and diplomacy in dealing with both clients and co-workers.
  • Commitment to building relationships through in-person customer interactions.
  • Ability to problem solve and provide solutions to client issues.
  • Strong mathematical skills.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Detail oriented, high degree of accuracy.
  • Competence with computers, telephone, 10-key calculator, and other office machinery.
  • Energetic, detail-oriented and ability to multitask effectively.
  • Commitment to the objectives of the organization and CEO Values.
  • May be required to register for and obtain NMLS ID # and is responsible for maintaining registration as required.

Environment:
  • Work requires regular attendance, punctuality, and adherence to agreed-upon schedule(s) with willingness to work a flexible and/or rotating schedule, and/or extended hours, as needed.
  • Climate controlled office environment.
  • Work involves being able to concentrate on the matter at hand, under sometimes distracting work conditions and frequent employee and customer contacts and interruptions during the day.
Physical:
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is often required to: sit; use hands in repetitive motions to finger, grasp, handle or feel; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to: stand; walk; and lift or reach with hands and arms.
  • Must be able to operate routine office equipment including computer terminals and keyboards, telephones, copiers, facsimiles, and calculators. Must be able to routinely perform work on a computer for an average of 6-8 hours per day, when necessary. Must be able to work extended hours or travel off site whenever required or requested by management.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include good visual acuity to read print and computer screens.
  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Compensation Range:
$19.00 - $26.50
