Community Health Center is seeking an Expanded Function Dental Assistant to join our team at our Champlain Islands (South Hero) location. Responsible for assisting the Dentist in the direct placement of restorations and provision of dental care and services to patients of CHCB. Also responsible for sterilization, preparation and inventory control of dental instruments and supplies.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
Education & Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Completion of accredited dental radiology course
- Five years' experience as a Certified Dental Assistant.
- Successful completion of an accredited Expanded Functions Course
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Knowledge of basic medical and dental emergencies
- Comprehensive knowledge of dental assistant techniques and procedures for all phases of general dentistry
- Knowledge of dental materials, their composition and uses
- Knowledge of dental software systems and their applications
- Effective oral and written communication
- Willingness and ability to travel to other CHCB sites as necessary
Licensure, Certification or Other Requirements:
- Vermont State Dental Assistant Registration
- CPR Certificate
- Dental Assistant National Board Certificate
- Successful completion of Vermont State Dental Board Exam
- Ability to maintain licensure/registration
