Description

General Summary

The Business Development Associate will be responsible for managing marketing/community efforts and supporting business development efforts in the Dallas office. This work will be a critical factor for managing the outward-facing image and building upon the customer growth of the Dallas office while ultimately supporting the Bank’s overall mission.

 

Principal Responsibilities and Duties

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge and compliance with all applicable banking laws and regulations as well as CNB policies and procedures.

Manage the marketing and community development effort for the Dallas office.

  • Produces and manages a written marketing plan that aligns office goals with constituencies.
  • Identifies key outreach opportunities in the community where this person and others in the Dallas office can independently serve for philanthropy and networking opportunities.
  • Serves as the main point of contact for sponsorship/donation requests. This includes seeking approval of such requests from the Bank CEO and managing the payment for such events.
  • Assists the Dallas Market President in the selection and management of inventory for company giveaways. 

 

Support the Dallas office’s deposit and lending personnel to grow the Bank’s customer base through a strategic business development effort.

  • Actively engages on an independent and team basis to identify and network with potential customers for the Bank. Hands off those opportunities to deposit and lending staff for further development.
  • Joins deposit and lending personnel on prospect and customer calls
  • Attends CNB sponsored events and help recruit attendees for each event including distributing tickets.
  • Works with the deposit and lending staff on coordinating the selection and delivery of customer gifts. This would include quarterly stop-ins, selecting holiday baskets and gifts, and managing birthday/anniversary/sympathy cards.

 

Assist the Dallas office’s participation in Bank-wide events and communications

  • Works with Bank-wide marketing officers/staff to create quarterly employee newsletter.
  • Creates and manages a Dallas social media platform while cooperating with Bank-wide marketing staff to post new social media and intranet content.
  • Assists with ordering business cards and nameplates when needed in the Dallas office. When necessary, manage announcements are placed on/in social media, trade magazines and local newspapers.

 

Be a valuable, conscientious team member of the Dallas office and the Bank

  • Supports the Dallas branch manager by welcoming customers, processing teller transactions and opening new accounts.
  • Manages the team-building opportunities for the Dallas office and organizes staff knowledge and attendance.
  • Maintains regular and punctual attendance.
  • Works cooperatively with others.
  • Works overtime as needed.
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties in this job classification.

Skills and Abilities Required

  • Ability to handle most aspects of the job with little supervision.
  • Ability to work under pressure while completing work in an accurate, timely, and high-quality manner.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the desire and enjoyment of independently engaging and talking to business professionals.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills and capability of handling sensitive and confidential information in a professional manner.
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft programs such as Excel, Word, and Outlook as well as the capacity to learn and efficiently utilize various other computer programs.
  • Be adept at social media platforms and how to post/manage content effectively.

 

Certifications/Education and Experience

  • Recent experience or education in a marketing or public relations role preferred.
     

Travel

  • Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-area and overnight travel may be expected to the office in Midland.

Working Conditions

  • Indoor, in an office environment, with a typical 40-hour workweek.
  • Considerable effort and eyestrain from continuous computer use.

Physical Requirements

  • Occasionally move office equipment, and files weighing 10 pounds.
  • Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer.
  • Ability to use auditory senses for answering telephone and hearing alarms.
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position for long periods of time to process work.
