Job description
CEI is searching for a full-time Preconstruction Engineer/Estimator to join our growing team in Denver, Colorado. This individual is responsible for assisting the company in meeting its goals and objectives.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Assume overall responsibility for preconstruction stage of assigned projects including pricing, scheduling, risk/value analysis, and other misc. tasks required for preconstruction effort
- identify tasks to be accomplished in order to satisfy contractual requirements
- Oversee Preconstruction efforts and effectively lead project team and foster solutions
- Prepare estimates for all stages of design from Conceptual through Final Construction Documents (Design/Build, Guaranteed Maximum Price, and Hard Bid diversity).
- Effectively schedule Preconstruction efforts including estimate milestones, durations; Identify long lead items and other needs.
- Perform value engineering and life-cycle costing
- Participate with Project Manager in selection of all subcontractors and suppliers
- Establish and foster positive long-term relationships with all business partners including owners, architects, engineers and subcontractors
- Effectively complete both large CM/GC projects and large, complex competitive bid projects
- Proposal development and technical writing
- Demonstrate exceptional presentation and sales skills while assisting and serving on RFP/Interview teams
- Other duties as assigned
EXPERIENCE
- Five (5) years of Alternative Delivery Preconstruction and/or cost estimating experience
- Preferred heavy civil industry experience
EDUCATION
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management or equivalent field
SKILLS
- Solid computer skills; Proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel
- Proficient in use of estimating software
- Proficient in use of scheduling software
- Civil 3D & Bluebeam experience
- Able to read drawings and specifications
- Strong understanding of commercial construction industry practices and standards
- Knowledge of construction costs, project budgeting, vendor selection, client proposals and owner/architect/general contractor industry expertise.
- Strong customer service orientation
- Strong organizational, multi-tasking and planning skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Salary : $100,000 - $120,000
