Overview
Regional carrier with over 40 years of experience has an immediate opening to join our team. Applicant must have experience managing a fleet of 100 commercial assets (CDL and Non-CDL drivers) and Owner Operators
Duties
- Conduct inspections, maintenance, and repairs of trailers, straight trucks, and tractors ensuring they're safe and operable
- Coordinate maintenance and repair with vendors and employees
- Review vendor accounts and invoicing to ensure accuracy
- Maintain fleet records including licensing, registration, permits, tax documents, DVIRs, contracts, etc.
- Develop relationships with vendors
- Administrator insurance claims
- Ensure DOT regulation compliance
- Assist with driver orientation, training, interviewing, and policy compliance
- Develop and implement fleet policies and procedures to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
- Monitor vehicle usage, fuel consumption, and maintenance schedules
- Coordinate with vendors for vehicle purchases, repairs, and maintenance services.
- Comply with all local, state, and federal regulations regarding fleet operations.
- Manage drivers and support staff, providing training and guidance as needed.
- Analyze fleet data for performance and prepare reports for management review.
- Implement safety programs to promote safe driving practices among all drivers.
- Additional duties as needed
Qualifications
- Minimum three to five years of experience in same industry and capacity
- Knowledge of commercial assets (tractors, trailers, box trucks)
- Proficient with fleet management/telematics software and Microsoft Office Suite
- CDL A license preferred but not required
- Ability to work independently as well as an effective team member
- Ability to work weekends, holidays, and offsite locations if necessary
- Extensive knowledge of DOT regulations
- Strong knowledge of vehicle maintenance practices and regulatory compliance.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact with staff at all levels.
- Ability to analyze data and make informed decisions based on findings.
- A valid driver's license is required; additional certifications in fleet management are a plus.
- Experience in budget management is preferred.
