General Description:
The Junior Accountant will be responsible for supporting the CM&D accounting team in maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions, and assisting with daily financial operations. This individual will handle various accounting tasks and ensure that all financial data is accurately recorded and reported in accordance with company policies and regulations.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Assist in processing invoices, reconciling accounts payable, and ensuring that payments are made on time.
- Manage accounts receivable and ensure timely collection of payments.
- Support the general ledger by recording transactions and making necessary adjustments for any discrepancies.
- Perform regular bank reconciliations and ensure that financial data matches bank statements.
- Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports.
- Review and categorize expenses and assist in the preparation of expense reports.
- Help in the preparation and processing of payroll, ensuring all employee hours and compensation are accurately recorded.
- Support the team in tax-related tasks, such as preparing tax filings, ensuring proper documentation, and staying compliant with tax regulations.
- Ensure accurate and timely entry of financial transactions into accounting software.
- Assist in internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and reports as required.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Previous internship or 1-2 years of experience in accounting or finance.
- Proficiency in accounting software.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Must have excellent communication skills both oral and written.
