Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Training to lead our training initiatives and enhance the skills of our workforce. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing comprehensive training programs that align with our organizational goals. This role requires a strategic thinker with a passion for talent development and a strong background in human resources management.
Key Responsibilities:
Training Program Development & Management:
- Design, implement, and oversee comprehensive training programs for employees at all levels, with a focus on leadership development and succession planning.
- Develop strategies to deliver leadership training that prepares current and future leaders for key organizational roles.
- Evaluate and improve training effectiveness through feedback, assessments, and performance metrics.
- Ensure training programs are aligned with organizational goals, values, and strategic objectives.
Succession Planning:
- Collaborate with senior leadership to identify critical roles and competencies needed for the future success of the organization.
- Develop and implement succession planning initiatives that identify high-potential employees and prepare them for advancement into key positions.
- Create and maintain a talent pool for leadership positions, ensuring a seamless transition when leadership vacancies arise.
- Regularly assess and adjust succession plans to meet evolving business needs.
Leadership Development:
- Lead initiatives to develop leadership programs that enhance skills, behaviors, and mindsets needed for effective leadership at all levels.
- Design and implement mentorship, coaching, and development programs for emerging leaders.
- Conduct leadership training workshops and seminars to build competencies in areas such as communication, decision-making, strategic thinking, and emotional intelligence.
- Ensure leadership training is accessible to diverse employee groups and fosters an inclusive leadership pipeline.
Employee Learning & Development:
- Oversee and manage the company’s learning management system (ALP: Ace Learning Place) to ensure employees have access to ongoing training resources.
- Facilitate continuous learning and professional development across all departments and roles.
- Monitor and assess training outcomes to ensure effectiveness in developing employees’ skills and competencies.
Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement:
- Work closely with HR, Talent Acquisition, and other business leaders to align training initiatives with overall organizational strategies.
- Act as an advisor to senior leadership on talent development strategies, focusing on succession planning and leadership pipeline development.
- Collaborate with external vendors and consultants to integrate external learning opportunities and resources as needed.
Strategic Workforce Planning:
- Identify skill gaps and workforce trends to proactively address training needs and talent development opportunities.
- Conduct regular assessments of organizational readiness for growth, restructuring, or new business initiatives, recommending appropriate leadership development strategies.
Reporting & Budgeting:
- Develop and manage the training budget to ensure cost-effective use of resources for training and development programs.
- Provide regular reports to senior leadership on training outcomes, succession planning metrics, and the overall impact of development programs.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in corporate training, leadership development, and succession planning.
- Proven expertise in designing and executing leadership training programs and succession planning strategies.
- Strong understanding of adult learning principles and instructional design methodologies.
- Excellent communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to influence and collaborate with senior leaders across departments.
- Demonstrated success in developing and retaining talent, especially within leadership roles.
